Start your day with a hearty breakfast at our friendly neighborhood Perkins. Chow down on your morning favorites in a relaxing atmosphere with cordial service. After washing down your bacon and pancakes with some coffee or orange juice take a leisurely stroll over to Books Revisited, voted 2015 Viewer’s Choice for Best Bookstore in Minnesota! Pick up a new book or a copy of your favorites while you take in the vintage typewriter décor in the windows. As you stroll along West St. Germain Street, stop in at any of a variety of retail locations offering home décor, antiques, clothing, and more. When you’re tummy starts rumbling again, stop in at any of our lovely downtown establishments perfect for a light lunch. There are many that offer great lunch specials, such as Jule’s Bistro, a locally owned restaurant known for fresh, homemade soups, pizzas, and specialty menu items, as well as walls and tables featuring local art work!
When the coffee has kicked in and you’re feet get itching to move again, head on down to the Mississippi river and take in the views on the newly opened bridge of the Beaver Island Trail. The new walkway offers a connection to the Beaver Island Trail going under Highway 23 along the banks, and provides a beautiful view of the river. Feeling a little more adventurous? Travel across the Division bridge to the Munsinger Clemens Gardens and take a respite from the hustle and bustle of the city. Take in the rose garden, the gazebo, and say hello to the peacocks! When you’ve had enough of the outdoors, head back up the bank and get your evening started with any kind of cocktail you prefer. Pick from more than a dozen bars in the downtown corridor to satisfy your drink cravings. Whether it’s a perfectly proportioned martini at the Martini Lounge, a hand crafted take on a classic cocktail at the Veranda Lounge, or if you prefer to sample the award winning brews at Beaver Island Brewing Company, it’s all within a few blocks. Cap off your day of indulgence with a nice sit down dinner. We recommend the eclectic menu at The White Horse or the locally sourced menu on the Third Floor at DB Searle’s.
Before you head to bed at any of three fantastic hotels within the downtown corridor, let us entertain you! Close out your day in Downtown St. Cloud with a show at your choice of either of two historic theaters. The Paramount offers unbelievable community theatre shows and national touring musicians, or check out the more intimate Pioneer Place on Fifth, home to professional theatre productions, and more than 150 nights a year of live, local musicians.
