Welcome to the St. Cloud area! Here are our suggestions for a great time! Pick and choose, mix and match!
Start your day with the St. Cloud Historic District Walking Tour. It's a self-guided tour -- pick up a tour brochure at our office or we'll mail one to you before your trip. Send us an email at the Contact Us section of this website. The brochure will guide you as you proceed throughout our downtown and read along about historic landmarks! We know you'll enjoy the history and the unique architecture along the way!
Be sure to stop for a coffee or smoothie at the Central Perk!
Hop in the car for a short drive to St. Joseph, MN - about 8 miles from downtown. We suggest a visit to the St. Benedict's Monastery Art and Heritage Place on the campus of the College of St. Benedict! St. Benedict's Monestary Art and Heritage Place is a museum, gallery and gift shop featuring the history and talents of the Sisters of the Order of Saint Benedict.
Enjoy lunch at the Gorecki Dining Centeron Campus. Experience buffet style dining with an amazing variety of delicious food stations! All at a reasonable price!
While out in this area, stop by Boomerville Lodge bicycle race track open to boomers - ages 55 and older. The track is located on a hobby farm between St. Joseph and Cold Spring on County Road 2 - there is a fee for using the track. Three-wheeled bicycles are available for use and provide a unique recreational activity for seniors. Event center in Cold Spring!
WARNING.... Crossroads Center is directly across 3rd Street from the Dan Tree Court. With over 120 stores, we cannot be responsible for the time that you "lose" because you've been lured into the ‘Center'
We don't want you to miss the Stearns History Museum. Take in the history of Stearns County and St. Cloud, the "Nitty Gritty Granite City"! Visit the two floors of exhibits for an adventure in the past! You'll see the Pan car and learn about it's very colorful creator, Sam Pandolfa! The Pan automobile was manufactured in St. Cloud in the early 1900's. It's a very innovative - way ahead of it's time - automobile! The museum also features an extensive research library, the Museum Store (gift shop) and a creative children's room! See the website for more information and for special programs.
Such a busy day.... We now invite you to the ‘Gardens' for a relaxing afternoon stroll. The renowned Munsinger Gardens are located on the banks of the beautiful Mississippi River. Relax on a bench, a bench swing, or in the gazebo overlooking the river. These gardens feature many shade loving plants because they thrive under the mature trees along the river. On the sunny side of the street you'll find the Clemens Gardens. Ask us about the wonderful "love story" that inspired these stunning gardens! The Rose Garden has over 1200 rose bushes and you'll recognize the European influence in the other formal gardens -- the "White Garden" is a personal favorite! Don't forget your camera - there are great photo opportunities everywhere! The ‘Renaissance Fountain with Cranes' is an incredible 24 feet high making it the tallest fountain in a Minnesota public garden! Check out the gift shop and have a snack on the shaded deck overlooking the endless variety of beautiful plant life!
Settle in for the night at one of our cozy, convenient hotels or the St. Cloud Area B&Bs. We know you'll enjoy the culinary surprises that the B&B's have planned for you!
